You know those things that no one knows about you? I mean, NO one. Things that, if you told even your close friends, you feel like you'd lose them forever?

"Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
All those years
They were here first"

You know how you can barely remember life before 4 years ago? Like you didn't begin until just a few years ago, compiled by so-called past experiences and memories from another mind?

"Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before the takeover
The sweeping insensitivity of this, still alive"

You know how things alternate between good, bad, worse, better, and sometimes perch on the in-between? How you don't remember decorating your soul with this or that, trinket or trapping?

"Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs
Speak no feeling; no, I don't believe you
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit"

You know how you could feel this way forever, but if you feel this another moment, you faint, fall, feel floor, and fall faint on ears that never heard you fall in the first place? What's a timbering soul's sound if no one cares to hear it?

"Where are we?
What the hell is going on?"

Exactly, Imogen. Exactly.

Okay, so my last post was back in JUNE?!?! Geez.

Ok, so I'm part of the Xanga revival as well.

With MySpace and Facebook Notes, however, Xanga's days are numbered. But, I must say that I at least tried.

I NEED A JOB! Now that I have free time and no money, I must fill said time with something that gives me money.

Life is no longer crazy, with Scandals and the bulk of NSAC being over. But, you know me. I find ways to fill the time with things like procrastination, sleep, more sleep, and internet surfing. I'm actually quite sad and unproductive this week.

YAY EASTER! Praise Christ and his resurrection! Without it, none of this (even you, Xanga) would be possible.

That's all for now. Anyone know anyone looking for roommates? BESIDES John Collins? :)

Man, my Xanganess is rusty.

Six Feet Under - The Complete First Season

So, I got the internship. That's right. 3 hours of college credit, a HUGE resume-builder, and $8.50/hr. Life in summer is good.

Chad J. came into town this weekend! His fiancee, Ashley, John C., and I hung out Friday and Saturday night. One of the most fun weekends I've had in a while. Trips to the Mont, the bowling alley, and then to SE GhettOKC for some Bobo's chicken. It was awesome.

Haven't had any time to write on my novel, like I wanted to this summer. But, I'm confident the time will present itself for me to finish it.

This weekend, Jared M. gets into town, and a while entourage of us goes to see SUPERMAN RETURNS! SOOO STOKED for this movie! Ever since "X-Men 3" wound up sucking hardcore, I have all my eggs into the Bryan-Singer-directed basket. I know he won't let us down with the S-Man.

Plus, I'm now watching "Six Feet Under" on DVD, and what an awesome show. Alan Ball, the "American Beauty" screenwriter, is such a genius. I want to write like that.

So, I thought I would have a lot more to write about with this post. Ha ha. Oh well. Work and friends, friends and work. It really is alot more fun than this post makes it sound.

"It's funny how a man only thinks about the " -Pussycat Dolls "Beep"

To begin AND end this post with mindless pop music choices, I LOVE LOVE LOVE FREAKIN LOVE the Pussycat Dolls. You can dance to it, lust after it, speaker-blast it, lust after it, relive the Spice Girls with it, WHOO! Got my OWN self hot tellin' that story!

Well, my sleep is flip-flopped (for those who don't know, I at times get to where I sleep all day and stay up all night) and, as a result, I am having to stay up the rest of the day to get back to regular. I also just ran three miles, treadmill-style, and, at present, I have endorphins racing through me, telling me not to worry about how bad things like muscles and hamstrings will hurt later.

MY INTERSESSION CLASS IS SO AWESOME! I am in my last week of Ad Copy and Layout from 1-5pm, and it's finally giving me the reasons I declared an Ad major. We just sit down at our computers, get our assignments (like, do a transit campaign, or design a magazine ad), and then brainstorm, design, and talk the whole four hours! Oh, to have your brain tired in a good way after class is a great feeling. Plus, I've designed some really good ads.

WHICH REMINDS ME!
Ok, so I have had two interviews with the OK Lottery's Sales, Ad, and Marketing Dept. for a PAID summer internship. (And by paid, I mean $7-$10 an hour! SAY WHA?) I should know something by Thursday. AHHH FINGERS CROSSED!

John C. and I are joined at the hip lately. We plan on starting a tv series, DVD-style, and want to finish one or more by summer's end. Ahhh, friends, TV, and summer.

Speaking of TV, how bummed were you when McPheever couldn't win American Idol? Taylor "Sick" took the crown, and now we will be subjected to another classical pop, Ray Charles, Sinatra throwback trying to make his silver lining (literally) in the music clouds. Sorry, "Idol". I liked it the first time when they called it Michael Buble.

In other disappointment news, Brett Ratner dropped the ball for "X-Men: The Last Stand." So obviously directed by someone other than Bryan Singer, the third installment was too fast, too scared of its own ideas, and downright cheesy and pointless in places. (Come on. There has GOT to be another way to get to Alcatraz besides the stupid destruction of the Golden Gate Bridge.) But, with Singer at the helm of "Superman Returns", it should still be a good summer for superheroes.

"Everwood" is going off the air. Ugh. Stupid CW (which is the new network that will merge UPN and the WB). And "7th Heaven" is being resurrected for an 11th SEASON! HUH?!?!?!

Kayz, I know you're reading. WatchED Tilton last night for the first time in forever and missed my favorite OU HFS Employee of the Quarter. Enough's enough. We gotta go get some B.A., fries, a drink, and GO! (Black Angus, when I'm at Krystals', Black Angus...) This weekend, after my insane class schedule is done.

"no no no NO! (no no no!)
Stick to the stuff you know-oh-oh.
If you wanna be cool,
follow one simple rule,
don't mess with the flow, no no-oh-oh.
Stick to the status quo-oh-oh-OH-oh-oh."

-"Stick to the Status Quo"
High School Musical

And lastly, if you haven't discovered the mindless blast of good-natured, at-times brillant, wouldn't-dare-rock-it-in-the-car-with-friend pop music that is "High School Musical", treat yourself and head over to Limewire and download a few of its tunes. Man, they're catchy!

Endorphins are wearing off...

Ouch,

~Joe

Cabaret: The New Broadway Cast Recording (1998 Broadway Revival)

Well, a 3-month break from Xanga. Every time I went to sit down and write out an entry, it was like, "Eh, there's too much to talk about," "I don't want to talk about this," or "I might do it tomorrow."

Well, things are decent right now. I have a presentation on Thursday, and then I am done for the semester. Had my Research final this morning, and I feel really good about it. Studied yesterday and made it all click, so we'll see come next week!

As for the semester as a whole, it's been a roller coaster to say the least. Things like watching the act win everything Scandals to completely bottoming out spiritually and being confronted by God and by others with the long-hidden things that I've tried to fend off myself for so long. And even now, as I try to get help for them, even the laying down of pride and comfort, no matter how wrong, is a struggle against myself.

I am excited for the summer. I am taking an May intersession class and probably working at the Norman YMCA Summer Camp, where the pay sucks but the "work" (hanging out with kids) is a breeze. I'm also going to find a hip-hop class to take for the summer to break up the monotony of a 9-5.

I am also about to declare a second major, Spanish, since it is only another year and probably a summer of class up from my Spanish minor. I plan on studying abroad Fall of 2007 and then graduating both majors in May 2008.

Over the past few months, I have:

-developed loves for Birthday Cake ice cream, the music from "High School Musical" (so dang catchy!), Veronica Mars, TiVo, and having drinks with friends.

-really learned a lot about the worst parts of me, spiritually and otherwise

-seen The Ten Tenors, "The Wild Party", "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "Parade" in various theatres (go culture!)

-celebrated two roommates' birthdays

-had and lost a love interest

-gotten up to 120 pages on my novel (which I would LOVE to finish by summer's end)

-thought I've gained some weight, but my clothes say "it's in your head"

-discovered my new wife: "American Idol" Katharine McPhee (you KNOW you saw the yellow dress when she sang "I Have Nothing"!!!)

-Bonded like crazy with my cell group, especially Chad and John. Jared M., Erin T., Brad L., Brin C., David J., and Jason Gilbow are also major standouts.

-learned that class can be important if you let it be, I won't go to a movie if enough critics say it sucks, Ellen Degeneres is hilarious, I can't keep a job unless I absolutely love it, life was a desolate waste before the iPod, and that I could have a serious career in stage choreography and vocals. (WHOO-HOO, 1ST PLACE SCANDALS!)

Next semester's plate contains Advanced Copywriting, German (I know, right?), Acting for Non-Majors (counts for nothing, I just wanna take it!), Advertising Problems, and Journalism Ethics ("Billy Madison"- bus-i-ness ETH-ics!). I also want to take Voice, but that's on my own time and only once a week. Might as well as long as the government's paying for it.

Hopefully, that catches me up in the eyes of the Xanga Gods. (That's all of you who post daily). Updates will continue throughout the summer.

If you are in Norman this summer, we're definitely hanging. No questions asked.

Don't Tell Mama What You Know, <-----"Cabaret" song
